Job description

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark
Team: Venture Studio / Portfolio & Capital
Reports to: Managing Partner

About KRING

KRING is a Danish venture builder and investment fund behind 30+ startups, driven by visionary co-founders and industry leaders. Using our Speedbooting™ model, we rapidly launch scalable ventures within AI, health, and energy - shaping a resilient, competitive, and sustainable future for Europe with the nordics as a spearhead.

Why we’re hiring

Our portfolio is growing rapidly, and several ventures are spinning out each year, and we are also actively investing in external ventures. Therefore, we need a hands‑on Investment & Portfolio Director who can sit “on both sides of the table”: rolling up their sleeves to help founders win the next milestone and driving professional, data‑driven portfolio management for our LPs.

Role Summary

You will own external venture investments, as well as the post‑studio life‑cycle of KRING ventures from pre‑spin‑out to exit, which we call “scale fast”:

  • Act as an active board member, setting governance rhythms and not only coaching CEOs, but also acting as a catalyst for effective board execution by leveraging KRING’s governance expertise coaching CEOs

  • Help ventures accelerate growth and structure follow‑on investments, valuations, and assist in fundraising

  • Build deep, trust‑based relationships with founding teams—often stepping in operationally on financing, go‑to‑market, hiring, or KPI dashboards.

  • Maintain a live overview of portfolio health, risk, and impact; lead quarterly reports to the Investment Committee and LPs.

  • Source and diligence new early-stage opportunities from external sources.

  • Work closely with ventures in the studio and the Head of Venture Building to ensure a successful spinout from the studio, laying a strong foundation for sustainable venture growth.

  • Represent KRING at ecosystem events, building deal‑flow and co‑investor relationships across the Nordics.

Job requirements

Must‑Have Experience

  • Founder or C-level operator who has successfully built, scaled, and grown investor-backed companies - ideally from pre-seed to Series B and demonstrating clear capabilities within growth strategy, scaling operations, team-building, and strategic partnerships.

  • Board experience (full member) with strong command of governance, strategy, and fiduciary duties and ability to actively support ventures in scaling phases.

  • 10 + years in early‑stage investing (VC, family office, or CVC), including leading deals, modelling, term‑sheet negotiation, and portfolio management and reporting.

  • Demonstrated ability to step into operational trenches—from building a financial model in Excel to negotiating a pilot customer contract.

  • Proven track record in at least one of KRING’s core domains: healthtech, climate‑tech/energy, or B2B SaaS.

  • Fluency in English; Danish or another Nordic language is a plus.

Nice‑to‑Have

  • Prior work with an impact or SDG‑aligned fund.

  • Network of Nordic institutional and family‑office investors.

  • Exposure to data & AI‑driven business models.

Personal Attributes

  • Founder mindset. You think like a founder, not a portfolio clerk.

  • Analytical + intuitive. Comfortable toggling between Wall Street rigour and gut‑feel pattern recognition.

  • Low‑ego collaborator. You get energy from making others successful.

  • Structured communicator. Can distil complexity into crisp narratives for founders, LPs, and colleagues.

  • Entrepreneurial energy. You move fast, take initiative, thrive in ambiguity, and have a commercial mindset.

  • Visionary thinker. You connect the dots between macro trends, system-level opportunities, ecosystem opportunities, and scalable venture models.

What We Offer

  • Base salary + carried interest in KRING fund.

  • Seat on multiple high‑potential boards.

  • A mission‑driven, fast‑moving team that believes business should solve big problems.
